This 5-days course involves theoretical and computer practicals sessions that address different problems of evolutio nary biology and hypothesis testing. The course includes a session of phylogenomic analysis and functional annotation, including most recent developments in these areas. Attendees will get familiar with, among others, the following tools: Phylip, Phyml, PAML, TreePuzzle, MrBayes, Modeltest, ProTest, jModelTest programs, all of them integrated in the Phylemon web-server. Twelfth International workshop in Phylogenetic Methods


The Willi Hennig Society (WHS) has organized several international workshops on cladistics (Finland, Czech Republic, US). In Latin-America one has been offered in Argentina (2002) and two in Brazil (2008, 2010). This will be the first held in Mexico.

Lecturers:
The workshop will be presented by a combination of at least four or five professors, all members of WHS.

Complete applications consist of a CV, a travel budget to justify the proposed expenses, and a one-page abstract (not to exceed 500 words) of a paper or poster to be presented at the meeting. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Only students and recent Ph.D. graduates are eligible, and the advisor must certify status in a separate email. All registered students (whether Stopes awardees of not) receive a free ticket to the Society's banquet! Awards will be announced as soon as possible.
